Sr. Patricia Murray, CJ, is a proud Irish member of the Congregation of Jesus whose life and ministry reflect a deep commitment to education, justice, and global solidarity. Formed academically in both Ireland and the United States, she holds a master’s degree in Education  and Theology (, as well as a doctorate in Practical Theology.

Over the years, Sr. Pat’s leadership has consistently bridged faith and action. In Ireland, she served as Peace Education Officer and later as President of the Irish Episcopal Commission for Justice and Peace, and the first Director of the Loreto Schools Network in Ireland. As a member of her congregation’s General Council, she helped strengthen the global Loreto school network, build an international Justice and Peace network, and establish the sisters’ presence at the United Nations.

She later became the first Executive Director of Solidarity with South Sudan, an inter-congregational missionary initiative. Sr. Pat has received numerous honors, including the Distinguished Service Award from the President of Ireland (2020) and the Outstanding Leadership Award from the LCWR (2022). She was a voting member of the Synod on Synodality, appointed by Pope Francis to the Commission for the Synthesis Report, and also served as a consultor to the Vatican Dicastery for Culture and Education.
