*Current Appeal* OLG Backpack drive: Deadline July 26th

The Loretto JPIC Ministry, in support of Catholic elementary education, is once again running a school supply drive for 3rd, 4th and 5th grade classes at Our Lady of Guadalupe School (OLG) in Chicago. OLG is a Catholic elementary school located in the same neighborhood as Mary Ward Center, a ministry of the Loretto Sisters that serves immigrant families and individuals on Chicago’s southside through English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, computer skills training, and US citizenship preparation.

The school supply drive helps ease the financial obligation on hardworking OLG families who have chosen to invest in a Catholic education for their children. By providing essential classroom supplies, we can help ensure that students begin the school year prepared and ready to learn. We hope you will join the Sisters in supporting these families and helping make a positive difference in the lives of OLG students!

You can help in a couple of ways:

  • Donate through the Loretto Development Office via check, cash, or card. You can mail a donation (Loretto Development Office, P.O. Box 508, Wheaton, IL 60187) call us at (630) 682-9097, or donate online using the form below. Last year, depending on sales, $50.00, on average, covered the cost of a student’s backpack and supplies.
  • If you would like to shop yourself, we have included a PDF with supply lists for the grades. Select one grade to shop for. Click here to view the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade supply lists. Return the items to the main CJ office by July 26th. If you are planning to shop, please email Andy Wells, JPIC Coordinator, awells@lorettocj.us to better coordinate our efforts. Please call the Development Office at (630) 682-9097 to confirm when you will drop off supplies.
